SingaporeIndians.com was founded by Mr. Yasin in 1999, a young man working in CRISP NUS.

At that time Yasin was very much intrigued by the world wide web that was new and beginning to catch on. He started to spend time self-learning internet technologies, e-commerce & web programming when he had some free time. He was so excited to put his new found skills to use & that was how SingaporeIndians.com was born. A nobel idea to bring Indians in singapore together. By then, the vivacious young man was an undergraduate at Nanyang Technological University. In between school he developed the site.

From then until 2 years ago the team that ran the site had couple of crew members including Yasin's buddy Sha and Yasin's brother Aziz. The site started off as a hobby of course. Eventually each crew member went on to pursue their own careers.

Yasin eventually started Tenfingers Pte Ltd. in 2002 with his partner Shafudin. AnakMelayu.com was created by Tenfingers and made success as a community portal. SingaporeIndians.com came under the umbrella of Tenfingers soon after and was redesigned and relaunched. The aim is to make it a success with the Indians just like AnakMelayu.com was with the Malays. Now SI has almost 8000 members and is rearing to reach new frontiers.
